Jean Chandanais Bohlender

I paint my perception, experience, environment, my life... and all the wonderful people and places that are in it... that is the story I have to tell. I have painted most of my life and have had a few classes here and there, but I gained the most experience through hard work and painting with other working artists. I work plein aire and in the studio from my own photographs captured in my experience. As well as being featured in the Montfort Pointe Marine's Museum in Jacksonville, N.C., my work has been featured and awarded in many shows; Beaumont Texas, Imperial Nebraska, Holyoke Colorado, Atlanta Georgia, and the Eagle, Manitou/Colorado Springs Colorado areas. Recently, work was shown at the Las Cruces Museum of Fine Arts, Tohono Chul Tucson, Southwest Arizona Fine Arts shows, Dos Barristas Coffee Gallery in Silver City, The Gila River Invitational, "Puppets" at Leyba and Ingalls Gallery, Blue Raven Gallery in Tucson, Tubac Art Council "Human Element" show, Last Day in Paradise Gallery, Mimbres Region Arts Council Member's shows, and the featured artist in the Mimbres Region Art Council show January - March, 2008.

I will have a print featured in the MRAC Print Project in 2008, and a one woman show during Wings Over Willcox in Willcox, Az in Jan, 2009.

My work is featured in many private collections in the US and currently showing at the SeedBoat Gallery on Yankee Street in Silver City, the Chiricahua Gallery in Rodeo, NM, and at Bucko's Espresso on Railroad Avenue in Willcox, Arizona.
